Academic Excellence: Evaluated through academic transcripts, first class honors or equivalent degrees, class rank, and institutional prestige.
Research Ability and Potential: Measured by your research proposal, prior publications, awards, and analytical capabilities.
Communication Skills: Assessed through written application essays, research statements, and virtual interviews.

Candidates must satisfy the general admission requirements of their target university, including submitting standard language test scores such as TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic if prior instruction was not in English. Submitting strong GRE score reports can also enhance your application file.

After graduation, non-local PhD recipients can apply for the IANG visa (Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates). This policy permits graduates to stay in Hong Kong for 2 years post study work permit without an advance job offer. Scholars can pursue careers in research centers across the Greater Bay Area (GBA development), with continuous residence for seven years opening pathways toward permanent residence.
